Troop 105, End of Summer 2006 News

It’s been a very busy year for Troop 105.

• Proudly announcing the 29th Eagle, Taylor O’Melia to Troop 105’s Eagle List.
• Welcoming 6 new scouts to the troop, they are: Jackson Anderson, Scott Davison, Graham Littlehale, Alex Lyons, and Daniel Sullivan and our newest leader Doug Lyons.
• Our troop has been working very hard renovating the Grange building on Rte. 27 along with the Lions Club and Troop 43. Donations are most welcome to help purchase materials to complete this great building.
• Some of you may have noticed our new bottle bin behind the Town Hall. Our bottle bin is near completion, our Life scout Alex Zadrozny is completeing the bin along with other scouts as part of a service project. We would like to thank the Pembroke citizens for their bottle and can donations.

Our troop has enjoyed many adventures this year. Some of the trips that our scouts and leaders have enjoyed were:

• Pat’s Peak ski trip,
• rock wall climbing,
• camping on the North River,
• canoeing on the Saco River,
• camping at Camp Kiwanee in Hanson,
• and much more.

Troop 105 had another awesome time at camp this summer. Adult leaders and dads enjoyed the company of 16 scouts this year. First year scouts completed their Flight to Eagle requirements towards their First Class. All the boys at camp earned a total of 35 completed merit badges, 6 partial badges, and five scouts completed the C.O.P.E. program.

The boys all came together to earn the Commissioners Award of Inspection. They also earned the Program Award, and the Honor Troop Award. Camp Squanto’s theme for the week was “Super Heroes”. The troop came in 1st place for theme night.

Three scouts were elected for the Order of the Arrow. The Ordeal candidates are Jake Sullivan, Jay Wainwright, and Connor Leddin.

Troop 105 would like to thank David Skolnick and all the leaders and parents who helped out at summer camp this year. It was a memorable vacation and we are looking forward to next year's Summer camp adventures. We can’t wait to begin our new scouting season in September.
